The Sugar Crossover

When we realize it is time to make a shift in our choices and thinking it becomes an invisible kind of “parting of water” crossover to the other side and then look back over your shoulder moment. A life changing experience as when:

the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left.

-Exodus 14:29

Deciding if you are ready to crossover and walk towards a new lifestyle is a decision which can make an incredible impact. We may need a reminder of how vital our food choices are, and some of us need a more consistent reminder, especially if many enticing choices are available.

When looking back at my past experience with food, I saw many details in how my thoughts about food can have a particular distortion. While in that distortion, I thought it was all normal. I hadn’t known anything different, or had I?

Again and again, I would say, ‘I need to stop eating this chocolate or that ice cream, this type of bread, or that type of food.’ It wasn’t until the food choice was getting me physically sick and my body was reacting in ways that I could no longer ignore what was happening that I had to do something different.

Certain sugars were so triggering and addictive that I would say, “I will just eat one or two pieces,” and then I was going back for another and another.

Then, there was an irresistible chocolate ice cream with chips, chunks, and syrup that I would eat as a once-in-a-while treat. That one-time treat “that day, that week, or that month” lasted a day, then two, three, or even more. I began to notice I was getting sinus and viral infections every time I ate this type of treat. Whether it was the ice cream or a compromised immune system, it was too much of a clue for me that I needed to stop!

It took time for me to detox the processed sugar from my system, even just last year, as once again, I sought comfort in food. The first 6-7 days were when I had migraines and other symptoms. I will discuss this in more detail in the Sugar Crossover© free workshop I offer occasionally (Register to get updates on the next workshop).

In my repeated experience with removing the unhealthier sugars, the weight also began slowly coming off. Some would look at the outside of me and say, “How can she have a problem with weight her legs and arms are so skinny?” Some of us carry our weight differently, and what is not much weight for some may still cause many health issues.

I am grateful to share what I continue to learn in the next free workshop. If you are interested in joining The Sugar Crossover Workshop for free and receiving the Sugar Crossover handout, sign up here:

I am including a free handout after you sign up to assist in looking at what we are eating with sugar in it and how it may be affecting us. Then, learn how we can still enjoy the sweetness in a new way by making even small changes and crossing over to new practices.
