I tend to lean towards sweets and rely on their quick energy, but I learned that the processed sugars I was choosing gave a false sense of unlimited energy that quickly crashed down into mood swings and burnout, among other exhausting responses in my body. Making the decision to purchase a Nutribullet to make healthier food options was a game changer for me. It made making a smoothie quick and easy.
Even when I began to choose natural sugar sources, I would go overboard. I would fill the blender with so much fruit that I would not even eat in one sitting. Then I found myself drinking the entire thing or leaving a little for left over. I had no filter to know when I was full and that it was time to stop. It took some time before I learned that I was also coping with food (to handle emotional stress and triggers).
Below is a recipe I had to learn to reduce to more realistic amounts for me; as I began to eat some of the ingredients separately, I realized I didn’t need so much to fill me up.
This Berry Nutty Superfood Smoothie is something I usually make in the morning, and it keeps me full until lunch. I recently realized it is best to drink when I am working at home that day and not when I have to be out and about running errands.
Depending on the recommendations of your healthcare professional decide how you would like to add or remove certain ingredients.
I am sharing what I do as part of my suggested routine. We each respond to the foods we eat in our own way. Knowing how our bodies react to each ingredient is essential. One way to do that is to try not to be distracted while eating.
Enjoy creating something that fits your lifestyle, and have a super-infused day!

4 walnuts
1/4 cup blueberries
6 raspberries

1 tablespoon hemp seed powder
1 teaspoon açaí powder
All the above added up to approximately 10 grams of protein!
- Start with filling the bottom of the blender container with ¼ cup of filtered water, the almonds, and walnuts (so the nuts begin to soak in the water)

- Add chia seed, flaxseed, hemp seed powder, and acai powder.
- Add ¼ cup of almond milk
Optional: Add naturally flavored Vanilla Spice Pure Protein Complete, Ningxia Greens and Golden Tumeric; all by Young Living
